Color digitization
– when color matters –
According to The National Archives of Finland`s quality requirement specifications KA/3357/07.01.02.04.02/2019 ja KA/15780/07.01.02.04.02/2020, a digital document of the same content produced by digitization is the document in question, and not a copy of the document. This means that the digitization process must be carried out by means methods that do not undermine the probative force, integrity and authenticity of the document.
An image digitized with a scanner can be more or less accurate in terms of how well it reproduces the original colors, tones, details, and other features. Therefore, the equipment used for digitization must be optimised by using dimensioning boards intended for this purpose. The integrity of the digitization is only confirmed by international quality standars ISO 19264-1, FADGI Guidelines and Metamorfoze.
